Telehandlers are not cranes, but they do much of the same lifting work on site — and rotating machines fitted with a jib or hook perform lifts that closely resemble crane work.
Mind the certification. Cranes and telehandlers fall under different training and certification schemes. Which documented training a given machine and task requires follows from the employer’s risk assessment and the machine’s own manual. Check that before use, not the machine’s appearance.
